Cleaning refers to the removal of dirt and grime from a surface. With cleaning tools such as sponges or cloths, cleaning simply moves germs and bacteria around a surface or from one surface to another. Disinfecting refers to killing a high percentage of germs and/or rendering them incapable of reproducing.
Cleaner: Aids in removing soil from a surface. Removes germs, but does not kill them.
Sanitizer: Lowers number of bacteria on a surface. Usually used in food service environments.
Disinfectant: Kills infectious fungi, bacteria, and viruses, but not necessarily resistant bacterial spores.
Sterilant: Used for destroying all living microorganisms by physical or chemical means.
Soap is soap is soap is soap, right? Well, sorta. While they do the same job, but each have their pros and cons.
Make sure that the wipes will not damage the surface you'd like to clean. It takes a minimum of 60-90 seconds for wipes to be effective. To prevent cross-contamination, only use one wipe per surface.
